How Nice is That?

Good friend Kristen at From Here to There and Back has nominated me for a Nice Matters Award, and it couldn't have come from a nicer person. What's next? Why, I nominate seven others. I can think of lots more. As a matter of fact, I include everyone who has ever taken the time to stop here and visit. I feel a little bad leaving very nice bloggers, Reality at Eastern Reality and Charles Gramlich at Razored Zen off this list, but I suspect they'll be relieved not to be asked to pass on this very pink image!

Larramie at Seize a Daisy

Olufunke at iyan and egusi soup
Patti at the Patti-O
Carleen Brice, The Pajama Gardener
Shauna Roberts at For Love of Words
Therese Fowler at Making it Up
The Writers Group

This award is for those bloggers who are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award.

Enjoy! This is such a nice one to pass along...

Oh Lisa, yes, you deserve it. And the image is a little pink, don't you think? Perhaps a little redesign by Scot? Just kidding...

Oh! This is a fun surprise! Thanks for the nomination. :)

And you are definitely quite deserving yourself.

Thank you, Lisa! I have to admit, I was stopped by Scott's painting, "Before the Dance" and it was a moment before I read your very nice post. Both of you are such talented artists.

you definately fall into this catagory. so nice.

and perhaps i fall into most of the prerequisites, except for "also for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world." that made me giggle. me?! with all my head banging and talking about mark's death and wishing for adult drinks...

i will stop there and thank you for the award. is there a swag bag that comes with this? (see? seriously? me?)

thank you lisa! that you thought of me is way better than the award (after party? media room? any of that?)

And another thank you -- community is such a lovely aspect to the power of the Internet; meeting nice people in any realm is such a joy!

LOL. Yes, I'm not a big pink fan.

You certainly deserve it, as do the people you nominated. You are always polite and have good things to say about other people.

Thank you for the nomination. I have tried to to present a dignified blog image, and I appreciate the acknowledgement.

Well you are all just so -- nice. I've exchanged emails with a number of you and Shauna has provided me with a great deal of helpful information on two subjects she has a great deal of personal knowledge about. BTW, I intentionally didn't renominate anybody that Kristen did -- just wanted to note Judy's conspicuous absence from this list since she is an especially deserving nominee also. Thanks for making the experience of participating in the online writing community such an important part of my day all!

Just as like attracts like, so does nice attract nice! Thank you, Lisa, thank you very much for the nomination.

Ironic, isn't it that to describe someone as "nice" was once considered a lukewarm compliment? Now, however, it doesn't get much better than being surrounded by such nice individuals!

Aw shucks, ma'am, she said, shyly running her toe through the dirt. :-) Wow, thanks!

Larramie, I once thought the same thing about the word "nice", but somehow, in this day and age where so many people are not so nice, I like it.

Carleen, You're so cute!

Literary Quote

It is worth mentioning, for future reference, that the creative power which bubbles so pleasantly in beginning a new book quiets down after a time, and one goes on more steadily. Doubts creep in. Then one becomes resigned. Determination not to give in, and the sense of an impending shape keep one at it more than anything.
