So Far Behind!

This week is going by just as quickly as last week did and I feel like I get farther behind all the time. I'm working on Chapter 12 of The Foundling Wheel and I plan to get a full writing day in this weekend if it kills me!

Tonight I got back from another trip to the Washington, DC area and of course that means I have lots of work that's piled up.

I feel like I'm missing out on so much when I can't check in with everyone every day and I want to apologize to all of my fellow Dickens Challengers for not being able to keep up with your latest chapters. I plan to remedy that by the weekend also.

On a positive note, I found that Marian, the musician who did such a lovely rendition of Here Comes the Sun has posted a second and third video while I've been away. I was surprised to find that Marian is German and lives in Munich.

Here's an original song he's got up on YouTube called, Waiting for the Rain.

I'll have a more reflective post up by the 10th -- which marks a full year of blogging for me.

Wow~ a whole year? I guess my anniversary is coming up too! Wish your work-related travels brought you to my neck of the eastern corridor. It would be so lovely to celebrate the anniversaries over a glass of wine and a long chat...

sigh.

Lisa,

I didn't realize it had been only a year since you started blogging. I'll mark three years on the Slow Train April 15.

It's good to read that Chapter 12 of the Foundling Wheel is on the way. I. too, feel bad that I haven't kept up with all the DC entries. Right now I'm just following yours, Tim's, and Cindy's, even though I know there's some good writing on the others.

Your encouragement has done a lot to keep me writing. I hope that pile of work isn't too high.

It's a busy time of the year. I'm really stretched myself, although there have been moments of quietitude. I sure do appreciate them.

Y'know, I think I completely forgot my blogging anniversaries - I think I'm going on three years now! Amazing how time flies.

Happy Blog-Anniversary!

Missed you, Lisa, but love this new Marian video. He's German...why do I take that news as a positive omen for The Foundling Wheel? ;)

It's a good thing you didn't see me this trip. I've been moving around like an ancient crab. All sideways and limpy. I am only now feeling better. Oy getting old! Next time lunch!

I had a little spare time this evening, so I went back to some of your early posts. I enjoyed the story of how you met Scott--I'm still skeptical about online dating services, but it obviously worked for you and Scott.

The post about the boy in art class was heart-wrenching. And you were honest enough to admit your own culpability. I'm sure he would forgive you, if he read your post.

In short, I was impressed with your archives and am very glad I discovered Eudaemonia last summer.

P.S. I also listened to Marian's song--very good. I hope you'll check out the Baroque HELP in my "In they came jorking" post. Someday I'll figure out how to post YouTube onto my blog the way you do. I just checked out a book on using blogger. But I'm afraid the author's first language is Computerese.

Kristen, I would make a special trip to do that :)

Debra, Oooh, a blog anniversary and a birthday -- let's celebrate!

Steve, It's a dual edged sword. Beginning in January, this has been the busiest I've been in nearly eight years with this company. Good for business, bad for writing. Hopefully, it will settle down and level out soon!

You're writing a great story and I appreciate your encouragement through our DC adventures too.

Charles, I'm hoping to get a little bit of quietude this weekend!

Patti, Ello and I tried to work something out, but it was a quick trip and we couldn't work the timing out. Based on the number of trips I've made out there so far this year, we'll have plenty of opportunities to do connect in the upcoming months :)

Melissa, Three years! Well, I know this first year for me just flew.

Shauna, It sounds like several of us popped up during the same week last year. I have really enjoyed reading your blog too and I've appreciated reading your comments here and elsewhere. Happy anniversary to you too.

Yogamum, Hey thanks! I can't wait to figure it out ;)

Steve M, It kind of is, isn't it?

Larramie, I liked it too and I guess I was surprised because I didn't detect a hint of accent in "Here Comes the Sun".

Ello, Well if you were moving like an ancient crab, I know it was for a good cause. I'm so impressed that you did that long MS walk!

Steve, Thank you for the kind words about my archives.

I will definitely check out "in they came jorking" post at your place, even if I can't do it until the weekend.

A lot of people seem to have trouble embedding YouTube videos in blog posts. It's really pretty easy. If you copy the "embed" code on the video while you're on the YouTube page, you can then go to blogger and write your post, then select the "edit html" tab (as opposed to the "compose" tab) and paste the code. Voila! The video will be embedded in the post when you publish.

Good luck with your weekend plans. Oh, how I wish I could get a "full writing day", even a full writing hour... :-)

Literary Quote

It is worth mentioning, for future reference, that the creative power which bubbles so pleasantly in beginning a new book quiets down after a time, and one goes on more steadily. Doubts creep in. Then one becomes resigned. Determination not to give in, and the sense of an impending shape keep one at it more than anything.
