A Gift to Me!

Little did I know when this piece was being painted that Scott was doing it as a gift to me! The finished piece is called "Rhythm and Flow" and now my dreary front hall is much more interesting.

Thank you Scott!

Oh Lisa, it's just beautiful! The rhythm and flow is so evident that it is just how I would have described the piece. The burst of color and movement of the work is so uplifting. What a special gift of love.

"Rhythm and Flow" with beauty and happiness...how I love the light the bursts forth from both paintings. Hmm, could these be abstracts of you and Scott, Lisa?

Susan, It was indeed. I had no idea he planned to gift them to me all along.

Larramie, I love that about them too. Hmm -- maybe they are ;)

Yeah, Lisa! What a fantastic gift! What a lovely husband!

Beautiful. Sometimes I wish I was an artist instead of an author.

It seems so much more impressive to be able to give someone a picture to put on their wall than to send them a short story you've written.

Oh, oooh!
Joy and passion!

WOW!!!!

I love your video clip of the painting in-progress. Scott is just so talented.

I'm hugely envious of your having that gorgeous piece in your front hall.

How lucky you are to have such a spontaneous and creative partner, who obviously thinks the absolute world of you.
And so nice to see your smiling face and put a face to your name.
You are so inspirational, thank you.
I see so many beautiful paintings I would love to purchase, but as my husband and I are travelling, and doing a lifestyle change in Europe, we can't collect at the moment.

One day, en route to home - we will call by Colorado!

Cindy, I am very lucky :)

Rob, Thanks for coming by! Yes, I've often thought the same, having no facility in the visual arts myself.

Bernita, Yes -- lots of activity around here with huge canvasses coming out of storage and lots of interesting new pigments and mediums being ordered. I'm very excited about what's to come...

Kristen, I can see them from where I sit on my sofa and I continue to find new points of interest. I wish you could see them in person -- there is so much more going on than what you can see in the photos.

Judy, We are feeling very lucky these days :)

Amy, I'll make sure to post the upcoming pieces -- he's got so many ideas swirling around. I told him that someday when they write his biography :) this will be the section they refer to as his abstract period, his most prolific. I loved recording the work and hope to do some more of the little videos.

Patti, You are too nice! Scott thanks you and so do I. So good to catch up ;)

Therese, I can't tell you how delighted I am. We had another painting there, but this front hall has only a small window and I've always hated it and thought of it as dead space. It feels so alive now.

Anon, You are so nice! Do I know you from another blog -- maybe Debra's "From Skilled Hands"? I feel like I know you. A lifestyle change in Europe sounds just wonderful. I've always dreamed of doing that. Yes, please do let me know if you are ever passing through.

Karen, Come by for coffee!

Shauna, Thank you. It does look that way, doesn't it?

Lana, I am really glad too :)

Usman, It is the best gift I've ever received and it really does make me happy every time I look at it.

Barrie, I really is.

Melissa, I wish you could see it in person!

Patry, Yes, I do too. He's done another already. He loves his new direction too. I can't tell you how much this has changed his whole attitude toward his work. Glad to hear from you!

Literary Quote

It is worth mentioning, for future reference, that the creative power which bubbles so pleasantly in beginning a new book quiets down after a time, and one goes on more steadily. Doubts creep in. Then one becomes resigned. Determination not to give in, and the sense of an impending shape keep one at it more than anything.
